Shaking My Money Maker

Wrapping up two simultaneous projects. Studio view of glazed ceiling panels on right, and sample and "practice" area on left. I used a new glazing product and wanted to give it a dry run. It still acted entirely differently on-site.
It's difficult to photograph, but it's a very pretty and subtle metallic finish. The color is more a champagne tone.

I had very attractive help for this one.

Studio: Hopping? or Screeching Halt?

I had to clear her out and build some temporary drying shelves. Let the day-laboring commence.

I caved and bought linen

Even a rocktown dwelling artist like myself is aware of the current silent code regarding one's painting ground. If you're serious, you paint on linen. This did just happen in the past few years, right? Is there a huge archival or durability difference between well prepared canvas and linen?? I'm abandoning wood for now and must now deal with this coercive new rule. I want to rebel, but I get the linen, and the size, and an oil primer.

I leave the store disgusted, but also very excited....

Some oldies

Some old pieces of mine which I retrieved from Ed Sanders' collection:

Larkspur, Raggle Petunia, & Katarinas, 5" x 7", acrylic on wood, 1997

Meditation Injury, 8" x 8", oil on wood, 1995

(I was surprised by how tiny this one was, compared to my memory of it)

Bluto's Reflection, 8" x 6", oil on wood, 1993
