Henri Art Magazine Studio Series

I'm so pleased to participate in Henri Art Magazine's current Artist Studio Series. My photo essay was just posted here. Read Paul Corio's essay here, June O. Underwood here, and Hans Heiner Buhr here.

Writing about my studio was more revealing than I expected. I still flip between loving and hating this place, but I think overall I'm becoming more objective about it.

C'mon Carla - GO ahead and love it! You did a fantastic job! No need to wait for objectivity; it is your studio - you were honest, free and generous about the life that takes place there. Wonderful!

Oh, I had no idea you had to put two by fours on most of your windows, though maybe I should have. I don't see any, however, in the photo of the house from outside.

Nomi, some of the photos are from before I boarded up.

Ah, ok. Oh, don't misunderstand -- I love your studio/house.

And your kitchen looks perfect for Eggs Benedict .. . . ahem.

(That is a large egg platter you're making there, isn't it?)
