Feb-Funk 2011

I'll use this as my official fightin-the-February-funk photo. It's from a mid-summer line clearing a few years ago, but it captures the brutal/futile pretty well. Enjoy.

yes, lush is good.

At the time this was traumatic. They cut the tree line so harshly. It did grow back okay, and I did not lose power during the recent ice storm, from downed lines. But yeah, it's still pretty lush even in the photo.

Clearance Not Appearance.

They probably make everyone recite that before every run.

It's not bad looking considering the amount of green left after they obviously took a huge amount down. But, yes, this would have disturbed me too.

Hopefully it's a lot fluffier now.

It actually created a weed problem, between the fence and the trees, where I could not mow (fence is down now for the clearance). I said screw it, cite me, which they did, for the weeds and for the lumber which was left from this clearance. The notice came in the middle of winter, and I had to sweep snow off the logs to move them. Also had to cut up a brush pile in sub-freezing weather. It seems cruel for anyone to demand immediate action in winter, for anything.

Oh, I didn't realize this is in front of your house?

"Yes", said Carla from the one month future.
